Terrence Jones and Terrence Ross both attended Portland’s Jefferson high school. Jones is a star at kentucky and Ross is a star at Washington. Both Oregon boys are projected to be drafted in the top 8 of the of the 2012 NBA draft by NBAdraft.net.
I watched Terrence Jones play a few times in high school but never got to see Ross play as he transferred from Jefferson. Jones’ Jefferson Democrats beat Mountain View in a very close Class 5A state championship game game in 2009.
UConn is projected to have the top two picks in the draft with Andre Drummond and Jeremy Lamb.
A starting five of players who played high school basketball in Oregon. Based on how good they are right now. Here’s my starting five:
G Terrence Ross, Jefferson (Washington) G Terrence Jones, Jefferson (Kentucky) F Luke Jackson, Creswell (Oregon, last played for Memphis this season) F Kyle Singler, South Medford (Duke) C Kevin Love, Lake Oswego (UCLA, Minnesota Timberwolves)
Other possibilities: Abe Lodwick, Mountain View, Maarty Leunen, Redmond; Andrew Andrews, Benson; Kyle Wiltjer, Jesuit, Jordan Tebbutt, Horizon Christian.
