    • Paxton Deuel of Summit is the reigning Class 5A boys singles champion. Summit also has Chandler Oliviera, Lionel Hess, Liam Hall, Bo Hall, Parker Nicholes and Scott Parr.
    • The Summit girls have three state doubles champions on their team in Hannah Shephard, Haley Younger and Lindsey Brodeck.
    • Brent Chin of Grant is the early favorite in Class 6A boys singles.
    • Jesuit has numerous players that should make a deep run at the state tournament, led by Nick Biggi. Biggi and Connor Leahy are reigning state doubles champions. Nic Mulflur and freshman Joseph Chin are also top Jesuit players. As well as Nathan Lortz and Sam Malech.
    • Scott Goldner of Lake Oswego, the senior was a quarterfinalist in 6A singles.

    Paxton Deuel headed to University of Portland

    Summit senior Paxton Deuel is headed to the University of Portland next year.

    Deuel is the top player in the state of Oregon and the reigning Class 5A state singles champion.

    Adam Krull who played for Summit as a freshman, and won a state doubles title with Deuel, is going to be playing for Xavier next year.

    Indoor Pickleball comes to Sage Springs Club and Spa Sunriver

    Sage Springs Club and Spa will be hosting weekly drop in pickleball play. Free to members and $7.50 for non members. Come join the fun for 2 hours of assisted pickleball play. All levels welcome. 2 courts will be set up for your enjoyment. Lisa Palcic will be on hand to get the play going and give any instruction needed for those of you just starting out.
    Weekly sign up sheets will be at the front desk. Play is limited to 16 people each session. If pickleball becomes in high demand more courts and play days may be added.
    Court shoes are recommended (no running shoes on the indoor courts please). Loaner paddles will be available but are limited, so paddle purchase is recommended. Paddles will be available for purchase during play or at The Racquet Shoppe in Bend.

    Play starts November 14th
    Pickleball play will be
    Monday’s from 3pm to 5pm
    Sign up available 1 week prior to play.

    Also look for Winter and Spring Pickleball Tournaments hosted by Sage Springs Club and Spa. More info will be sent this December.

    Mark Leckband and I are teaching another session of junior tennis @ Juniper Park starting next week… info is below.

    “Due to the popularity of our youth summer tennis programs we have decided to offer two sessions for the fall. Josh and Mark are in town, and availalble to teach.

    These lessons will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, September 12 – October 5th, at Juniper Park.

    Session 303501.01 is for ages 5-8 and from 4:00-5:00PM
    Session 303501.02 is for ages 9-11 and from 5:00-6:00PM
