As the year draws to a close, Central Oregon Athlete will take a look at some of the top performances of the past calendar year as well as the past decade. That’s right, we are just one month away from ending this first decade of the 2000s. So to get things started, here is a list of the State Team Championships and State Placing that Summit high school teams had in 2009:

Mountain View lost to Corvallis 3-2 in the Class 5A Boys state soccer championship today @ Liberty High School in Hillsboro. Here’s a list of how Central Oregon teams have placed so far this Fall:

The reigning-state champion Bend girls soccer team is back in the Class 5A state championship match for the 4th-straight year.
With the Lava Bear’s 3-1 win over Thurston on Tuesday, they have now reached the final every year since the re-classification and are going for their 3rd title in four tries.
Bend faces a tough Sherwood team in the final on Saturday at Liberty High School in Hillsboro @ 1pm. Sherwood (18-0 ) hasn’t allowed a goal yet in the playoffs, beating Summit 1-0 in the quarterfinals and outscoring its opponents 11-0 in three games. Not only is Sherwood undefeated on the season, they’ve outscored their opponents an astounding 82-1.
