It’s a balanced year in Central Oregon for boys basketball. The only teams to go undefeated in games against local teams are Sisters (4-0) and La Pine (1-0). Oregonlive has a nice article on TIgard coach – “Prep football: Tigard coach Craig Ruecker sticks with what works” – Ruecker was coach at Redmond and his quarterback (one of two taking snaps) is transfer from Summit Sam Stelk. Tigard is 4-0 in 6A.
“In 35 seasons as a head coach, Ruecker has been at Reynolds (1977-81), Glencoe in Hillsboro (1982-2003), Redmond (2004-2008), and Tigard (beginning in 2009). He has taken 25 teams to the playoffs, won state championships in 1986 and 1994, and takes a 231-123 career record into Friday’s game with Tualatin.”
