It’s a balanced year in Central Oregon for boys basketball. The only teams to go undefeated in games against local teams are Sisters (4-0) and La Pine (1-0). When Ridgeview joins the picture for the 2012-13 school year, a CO boys basketball league could be very interesting! Here’s how it’s gone locally so far this season:

Bend – Not Rated

This is what I’d consider a pretty straight forward ranking system. No complex equations that consider how many points you score (meaning you can take your foot off when you’ve got them down 35-0 @ half), and no opinion. Just wins and who you lose to. Also, it keeps things going based on the year before. For example, if you win state and then you are undefeated the next season you should be ranked No. 1.
Formula
• Finish previous season (this sets the criteria for unbeaten teams)

– New York Knicks – $655 – Biggest market… biggest worth.
– Los Angeles Lakers – $643 – Second largest market… you get the idea.
– Chicago Bulls – $511 – Big market. Sports town. And they are winning again!
– Boston Celtics – $452 – Celtics are right up there with the Lakers, Cowboys and Yankees when it comes to franchises.
– Houston Rockets – $443 – You can thank Yao Ming for this. The Rockets are huge in China.
– Dallas Mavericks – $438
– Miami Heat – $425 – The big 3. LeBron James joining the Heat upped their worth by 17%. The most in NBA history.
– Phoenix Suns – $411
– San Antonio Spurs – $404 – They just win and with pretty much the same guys doing the winning every year.
– Toronto Raptors – $399
– Orlando Magic – $385
– Golden State Warriors – $363
– Detroit Pistons – $360
– Portland Trail Blazers – $356 – They aren’t the largest market, but they are the only NBA team in the entire Pacific Northwest and the only pro team in all of Oregon (soon to change with the Portland Timbers of MLS).
– Cleveland Cavaliers – $355
– Utah Jazz – $343
– Philadelphis 76ers – $330
– Oklahoma City Thunder – $329 – With two of the best young players in the NBA, it’s a shame they aren’t in Seattle anymore.
– Washington Wizards – $322
– Denver Nuggets – $316
– New Jersey Nets – $312
– Los Angeles Clippers – $305 – Don’t be surprised to see this go up. The Clippers have the market to work with and now they have a team that can sell tickets and a player (Blake Griffin) that can sell jerseys.
– Atlanta Hawks – $295
– Sacramento Kings – $293
– Charlotte Bobcats – $281
– New Orleans Hornets – $280
