Big 3 in New York (Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony & Amar’e Stoudemire)?

    COA,Feature — Tags: , , , , , , — Josh Cordell @ 11:02 am

Chris Paul wants to be a Knick. If Paul joined Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire in New York, that gives the Eastern Conference two “Big 3″s. We’ve seen that a “Big 3″ isn’t a guaranteed championship… but the Miami Heat did reach the NBA finals with their Big 3.

So what Big 3 would be better?

Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony & Amar’e Stoudemire – New York

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade & Chris Bosh – Miami

My pick would be Miami, but I’d love to see another Big 3 in New York, and it would be worth lots of money for the NBA… which they’ve shown us lately that MONEY is what they are all about!

    2011-2012 Portland Trailblazers starting 5

    COA,Feature — Tags: , , , , , , — Josh Cordell @ 9:52 pm

The two players who are locks to start for Portland this year are newly acquired point guard Raymond Felton and “should be an All Star” LaMarcus Aldridge. The rest is up in the air like a jump ball. Option 1 is the best case scenario… option 2 isn’t too bad either!

    Option 1
    G – Raymond Felton 6-1
    G – Brandon Roy 6-6
    C – Greg Oden 7-0
    F – Gerald Wallace 6-7
    F – LaMarcus Aldridge 6-11

    Option 2
    G – Raymond Felton 6-1
    G – Wesley Matthews 6-5
    C – Marcus Camby 6-11
    F – Nicolas Batum 6-8
    F – LaMarcus Aldridge 6-11

Let’s pray the Brandon Roy of the playoffs is the B-Roy of reality! If so, he along with LaMarcus would give Portland the 1-2 it’s been planning on for several years now. A healthy Oden would give them one of the few true centers in all of the NBA.

The Zers have great depth at the wings with Roy, Matthew, Wallace and Batum. Hopefully the bigs can stay healthy and Portland can make a legit playoff run in 2012!

Did it work for the Miami Heat?

    COA,Feature,Pros — Tags: , , , , , — Josh Cordell @ 10:31 pm

DId they set a regular season record for wins? No.
    Did everyone love them? No.
DId they sell a crazy amount of tickets and make it to the NBA Finals? Oh yeah! Mission accomplished.

The Heat are four wins away from being crowned the NBA champions. LeBron took a lot of “heat” for how he handled his move to Miami… rightfully so! But if the Heat win it all (I think they will) and begin a streak of titles (I think they will), then it more than worked out and eventually how it went down will be forgotten.
