I ran into Summit football coach Jerry Hackenbruck this past weekend and he is really excited to get things going in his second stint as Summit football coach. The Storm are coming off a down year and Mountain View/Bend are coming off of several successful years in a row… so there should be some great high school football in the city of Bend. Summit high school had five coaches receive Oregon Coach of the Year and also won the Class 5A all-sports championship for the 2008-2009 school year at Saturday’s Oregon Athletic Coaches Association annual banquet. Winner coach of the year were:

Girls Cross Country: Dave Clark
Boys Swimming: Amy Halligan
Girls Golf: Jerry Hackenbruck
Boys Tennis: Josh Cordell
Girls Track: Dave Turnbull
