Tonight’s IMC basketball games

Posted on 19 February 2010 by Josh Cordell

Pendleton beat Hermiston last night, which helps the causes of Summit, Madras and Bend. The Intermountain Conference boys basketball race is coming down to the wire.

Madras (5-7) @ THE DALLES-WAHTONKA (8-4) 7:00pm – A must win for the White Buffaloes, especially with the likely win by Summit tonight. A loss could knock them out of the playoff hunt.
Mountain View (11-1) @ BEND (5-7) 7:30pm – MV has clinched the IMC titles. A win by Bend would be one of the biggest in Civil War history. The Cougars have a 7-game win streak going.
Crook County (0-12) @ SUMMIT (6-6) 7:30pm – A Storm win gives them

IMC girls basketball playoff race

Posted on 14 February 2010 by Josh Cordell

Basketball
Here’s how the playoff race looks going into the final week of Intermountain Conference girls basketball.
Bend 8-3 – Crook County, Mountain View and Summit games are all that stand between the Lava Bears and an IMC championship.
Hermiston 7-4 – Finishes with two of three games @ home.
Mountain View 7-4 – The Cougars didn’t make the playoffs last year. Finish with two out of three on the road. Need to notch a road win for sure!
Madras 6-5 – Sitting in fourth after finishing with a 5-9 record last year. Finish with two of their three games against Hermiston.
Summit 5-6 – The reigning IMC champions are sitting @ fifth, but they can help their cause by winning out. A game @ MV is followed by home games against Crook County and Bend.
The Dalles-Wahtonka 4-7 – Two of three vs. Pendleton. That’s good for TDW seeing as Pendleton is in last place… but just a game behind TDW.
Crook County 4-7 – A down year after finishing 10-4 for second in the IMC last year.
Pendleton 3-8 – Not looking good for Pendleton’s playoff hopes.

IMC boys basketball final week

Posted on 14 February 2010 by Josh Cordell

Basketball
This is the final week of the Intermountain Conference regular season for boys basketball. Playoffs are still wide open. A few teams play each other twice this week, should be very exciting.

TUESDAY
Crook County (0-11) @ BEND (4-7) 7:00pm – Bend should win this game.
Madras (5-6) @ HERMISTON (4-7) 7:00pm – Madras and Hermiston play each other twice in the final week. Both teams still have a shot at the playoffs.
Pendleton (7-4) @ THE DALLES-WAHTONKA (8-3) 7:00pm – Playing each other twice in the last week. Second place will be decided by these two games.
Summit (6-5) @ MOUNTAIN VIEW (10-1) 7:15pm – The Cougars have won six games in a row. Would be the biggest basketball win in Summit history.

THURSDAY
Hermiston @ PENDLETON 7:00pm - One of Oregon’s truest rivalries. Pendleton is the heavy favorite in this one, but you know Hermiston is going to fight for this win.

FRIDAY
Madras @ THE DALLES-WAHTONKA 7:00pm – TDW won the first meeting 74-73 @ Madras. Should be a great game.
Mountain View @ BEND 7:30pm – The “Civil War” is a great event no matter the standings. Expect some creative cheers from the Lava Bear faithful.
Crook County @ SUMMIT 7:30pm – A needed Summit win in the playoff hunt.

SATURDAY
Bend @ SUMMIT 7:00pm - The last time these two met was the best high school basketball game I’ve ever seen, with the Storm winning on a buzzer-beater in overtime. This game could possibly be a win and your in, lose and your out for Summit. Put this one on the calendar!
Crook County @ MOUNTAIN VIEW 7:00pm – Cougars should cruise into the playoffs with a win at home against the Cowboys.
Hermiston @ MADRAS 7:00pm – Likely a playoff decider. It could come down to the wire for playoffs with this game along with the Bend-Summit game.
The Dalles-Wahtonka @ PENDLETON 7:00pm – There’s a big difference between 2nd and 3rd as far as playoffs go, this game could decide that.

IMC boys playoff picture

Posted on 13 February 2010 by Josh Cordell

Basketball
Mountain View 10-1 – 30 points by Seth Brent in big win over Madras moved the Cougars to a 6-game win streak. They are 20-1 overall.
The Dalles-Wahtonka 8-3 – Has lost a game to MV, Summit and Hermiston. But also gave MV it’s only loss of the year.
Pendleton 6-4 – Impressive 15-5 overall record.
Summit 6-4 – Last two games have gone into overtime, 3 of last 5 have gone to overtime.
Madras 5-6 - Despite losing to MV by 11, the White Buffaloes are playing well.
Bend 4-7 – Has lost 3 games in a row. Needs to win out to finish league at 7-7.
Hermiston 3-7 – Tied for the second leading scoring team in the IMC.
Crook County 0-10 – Next year’s move to 4A could be a big boost for the Cowboys.

Today’s games:
Crook County @ HERMISTON 12:45pm – Hermiston needs to bounce back to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Summit @ PENDLETON 12:45pm – The winner takes sole possession of third place.

IMC boys basketball tonight

Posted on 12 February 2010 by Josh Cordell

Bend (4-6) @ THE DALLES-WAHTONKA (7-3) 7:00pm – Bend is fighting for it’s playoff life, TDW wants to bounce back from a loss to MV
Crook County (0-9) @ PENDLETON (5-4) 7:00pm – Pendleton should improve to 6-4.
Summit (5-4) @ HERMISTON (3-6) 7:00pm – Every game is big from here on out… and this one is huge! Summit needs a sweep of Hermiston, but that’s easier said than done. Always a hard place to play.
Mountain View (9-1) @ MADRAS (5-5) 7:00pm – The two hottest teams in the IMC square off. The Cougars have won 5 games in a row, while the White Buffaloes have won 4 games in a row. A Madras win could put them in a tie for third. A Madras loss three-way tie for fifth.
