    SINGLES
    Alex Rovello, Cleveland – 4-time state singles title. The face and name of Oregon state tennis for the past four years.
    Chris Wiechert, Churchill – Two-time singles runner-up, two-time 3rd place finisher, led his team to two team titles.
    Stuart Tierney, Glencoe – In three years, two runner-ups and a 3rd.
    Paxton Deuel, Summit – In one year of playing singles finished fourth, losing to Wiechert and Tierney in the most loaded singles draw in years.

    ALSO: Michael Baumgartner, West Albany; Matt Baumgartner, West Albany; Chase Thomet, Churchill.

    DOUBLES
    Alex Walentin/Cody Kohlmoos, Summit – The original 5A doubles champions. Didn’t lose their serve in the entire state tournament.
    Adam Krull/Paxton Deuel, Summit – The only known all-freshman team to win a state doubles championship in Oregon history. Beat their teammates Guyer/Walsh in the state finals.
    Josh Guyer/Tyler Walsh, Summit – 2008 state champions and 2009 state runner-ups. The only 5A team to reach two state finals.
    Connor Horne/Matt Walker, Summit – Dominated the 2010 state tournament.

    No. 9 BEND vs No. 6 GLENCOE
    Bend (8-2)
    2008 – subround (lost 35-14 to Glencoe)
    2007 – semifinal (lost 10-7 to Glencoe)
    2006 – quarterfinal (lost 28-19 to West Albany)
    Bend is 0-5 vs Glencoe in the last three years. Bend’s Kyle Brown has rushed for 1,546 yards and a school-record 30 touchdowns.

    Glencoe (9-2)
    2008 – semifinal (lost 47-21 to Thurston)
    2007 – final (lost 34-7 to West Albany)
    2006 – did not qualify
    Glencoe’s two losses this season are to No. 1 Hillsboro (26-22) and to No. 3 Sherwood (62-6).

    No. 8 MOUNTAIN VIEW vs MADISON
    Mountain View (8-1)
    2008 – quarterfinal (lost 26-18 to Jefferson)
    2007 – semifinal (lost 46-0 to West Albany)
    2006 – quarterfinal (lost 38-6 to Lebanon)
    The Cougars only loss all season is to Bend.

    Madison (5-5)
    2008 – round of 16 (lost 15-12 to Glencoe)
    2007 – round of 16 (lost 28-6 to Bend)
    2006 – did not qualify
    Madison lost to Century 27-0, Mountain View beat Century 38-14. If it weren’t a sport and were just an equation, Mountain View would beat Madison like a couple hundred to zero… that’s why they settle in on the field though! :-)
