Terrence Jones and Terrence Ross both attended Portland’s Jefferson high school. Jones is a star at kentucky and Ross is a star at Washington. Both Oregon boys are projected to be drafted in the top 8 of the of the 2012 NBA draft by NBAdraft.net.
I watched Terrence Jones play a few times in high school but never got to see Ross play as he transferred from Jefferson. Jones’ Jefferson Democrats beat Mountain View in a very close Class 5A state championship game game in 2009.
UConn is projected to have the top two picks in the draft with Andre Drummond and Jeremy Lamb.

The latest BCS has LSU, Alabama and Arkansas ranked 1-2-3. And reigning National Champion Auburn (also of the power house SEC) is ranked 24.
This just in… the SEC dominates college football!!!

2009 – Alabama SEC
2008 – Florida SEC

Of all the top ten college football teams, Oregon and LSU play by far the toughest first games of the season. Boise State’s game @ #22 Georgia would be the next most impressive matchup. Oregon and LSU are playing @ Cowboy Stadium in Texas. It’s a rare top 4 matchup to start a season and the winner clearly should move into the number one spot in the polls. No. 1 Oklahoma plays host to Tulsa, while No. 2 Alabama hosts Kent State… making Oregon and LSU’s game @ a neutral site look even more impressive.
USA Today Top 10
1 Oklahoma hosts Tulsa (34 in ESPN Power Ranking)

I just read “Canzano: Oregon Ducks need some help to make the Pac-12 nationally relevant” by the Oregonian’s John Canzano.
So how good do you think the Pac-12 will be? I believe that Oregon, Stanford, Utah and Arizona State will all be legit top tier college football teams… how about you?

Summit graduate and University of Montana tennis player Cody Kohlmoos had a big win for the University of Montana tennis team. “Kohlmoos clinches must-win for Montana”
You’ve got to love this quote from Cody – “In my match, (coach) Kris (Nord) came over and told me that that match was the reason that I had run all of those stairs, why I had worked so hard. I feel like what I have is fitness that is better than just about anyone. Out there I just ran harder than I have ever run before, not letting any balls to get away. I knew that if we were going to grind it out and if I could just keep running, eventually I could pull it off.”
Kohlmoos finished his tennis career @ Summit with some impressive numbers:
• 2007 Class 5A State doubles champion (with Alex Walentin)
• 2-time IMC league champion (1 singles & 1 doubles)
• 75 career wins (2nd all-time @ Summit)
• 3-time state qualifier (tied 1st)

Kyle Singler
High School – A state title and a second-place finish for South Medford (lost to K-Love’s LO team when they finished second).
College – A National championship in 2010 for Duke.

Terrence Jones
High School – 3 state high school championships @ Jefferson… it doesn’t get much better than that!
College – TJ’s Kentucky Wildcats are in the final 4.

Kevin Love
High School – A state team title and two runner up finishes. (One of those second place finishes was to Kyle Singler’s South Medford team).
College – Final 4 in his only year of college basketball at UCLA.
Pros – OK, so this hasn’t gone so good for K-Love. Granted he is the NBA’s leading rebounder, but his team’s record is not good! But give him a break, they are the Timberwolves. They have gone 56-182 in his time in Minnesota. That could all change when Love becomes a very popular free agent.

Is it that time already? GoDaddy.com’s first team features Oregon’s LaMichael James and Cliff Harris.
