    • Bend’s Chris Horner is riding in the Tour de France, no big deal… only the most prestigious bike race in the world and one of the most elite sporting events in the world.

    • Madras’ Jacoby Ellsbury, who plays for the Boston Red Sox is in the news for his injury.

    Bend, Oregon – cycling headquarters of the USA

    Bend could be called “Cycle Town USA.” With names like Steve Larson, Chris Horner, Ryan Trebon, Adam Craig, Carl Decker, Chrissy Ruiter and others, Bend has an amazing legacy of cycling that is only growing. Here are a few of the great things Bend has going when it comes to cycling:

    • December 10=13 Bend hosts Cyclocross Nationals. Download official guide
    • The Cascade Cycling Classic, going into its 31st year is the longest consecutively run elite stage race in the country and has attracted most of North America’s top cyclists and teams, including Lance Armstrong.
    • A plethora of great bike shops. See Links page.
    • Young up and comers like Ian Boswell and Carson Miller among many.
    • An amazing trail system.
    • A true bike culture.
