Grad Golf Champion$hip$ is a newly launched “Alumni School Fundraiser.” According to the site:

Enjoy a wonderful day on the links with former classmates from those “glory days” or other schoolmates from past or future years. Have fun representing your school and/or your graduating year to find out who is truly “king of the hill”. The winning teams from your school will all qualify for the league or district championships at a future event. And it even gets better than that. The winning teams from your league, with a little luck and skill, ultimately will move on to the state championship tournament!

This is a great way to enjoy some friendly competition, a reunion with classmates, as well as give something back to your school, school district and your state. Grad Golf is a fund raising organization creating a venue for golfers to reconnect with fellow golfers and schoolmates through competition and socialization.

Bend Oregon Sports… that pretty much is the focus of this site. Central Oregon Athlete features articles and links having to do with worldwide sporting news, Oregon sports and Central Oregon sports, but the focus is on Sports in Bend. I just picked up “Best Easy Day Hikes, Bend and Central Oregon.” It’s an awesome little pocket book and a really good resource. The Falcom Guides book by Portland’s Lizann Dunegan.

Among the hikes included are: The River Trail, Shevlin Park Loop, Fall River, Osprey Point, Green Lakes, Lava Lands Visitor Center Trails, Paulina Lake Loop and many others.

It’s a great way to get started and has lots of valuable information.

February is full of tennis action in Central Oregon. Here’s a look at what’s going on this month:
15 – Deadline to signup for Athletic Club of Bend NTRP tournament.
19 – COA high school tennis night @ West Bend Tennis Center.
19-21 – Athletic Club of Bend NTRP tournament.
22 – First day of High School Tennis.
