Oregon’s best prep mascots

Oregon high schools have some great mascots/nicknames. I have to say my all-time favorite is the Tillamook “Cheesemakers.” That is hard to beat, especially since I love “Tillamook Cheese.”
Some of my favorites:
• C.S. Lewis Academy – Watchmen (because I’m a big fan of both C.S. Lewis and the movie “Watchmen”)
• Arlington/Lakeview – Honkers (two Honkers… what are the odds?)
• South Eugene – Axeman
• Huntington – Locomotives
• Oregon Episcopal – Aardvarks
Oregon’s most popular:
17 Eagles
14 Tigers
12 Cougars
12 Warriors
10 Bulldogs
8 Lions
8 Panthers
5 Indians
5 Hawks
4 Grizzlies
4 Wildcats
HERE is a complete list of all the Oregon high schools and their mascots.
The fact that our two major universities are the Ducks and Beavers is also pretty great also.

Good stuff and interesting topic.
I’ve posted some of my thoughts here:

How do the Trojans not make the list?!
You left out one of the most interesting. Lexington High School, first graduating class in 1919, was consolidated with both Heppner and Ione in 1959. Their mascot was the Jackrabbit – one of only two schools in the U.S. with that nickname – the other being in Nebraska or Kansas (I forget now).
Trojans are a good one for sure!
Wow! I’ve never heard about the Jackrabbits. Thanks for the history!
