  • Will Jimmer be good in the NBA?

I know that college greatness doesn’t always translate into NBA success, you don’t have to look far to see examples of “Jimmer Fredette-like” players who haven’t done in the pros what they did in college… but I think Jimmer will be different.

This article from NBA.com doesn’t think so. NBAdraft.net projects Jimmer as the 10th pick in the NBA draft, the highest selection of any college senior.

Adam Morrison (No. 3 pick in 2006) and J.J. Redick (No. 11 pick in 2006) are two recent players who have had the same knocks against them as Jimmer. Great shooters, ballers, just not athletic enough… dare I say “too white.” But while J.J. isn’t a star, he is averaging over 10 points per game. Adam hasn’t played in the regular season this year but averages 7.5 ppg for his career.

Am I crazy for seeing Jimmer as a player that is too good to be held down by his lack of vertical?
