    Based on Team State Championships won since reclassification in 2006:
    6A
    Boys – Central Catholic 3, Crater 1 (1 for 1 as a 6A team), Jesuit 1.
    Girls – Jesuit 5 (9-straight large school championships)
    5A
    Boys – Crater 4 (moved to 6A in 2010 after winning the first 4 5A titles), Hermiston 1.
    Girls – Summit 3 (current streak), Ashland 1, Crater 1
    4A
    Boys – North Bend 2, Hidden Valley 1, Henley 1, Philomath 1.
    Girls – Siuslaw 4, Marist 1
    3A/2A/1A
    Boys – Nyssa 2, Union 2, Catlin Gabel 1.
    Girls – St. Mary’s 3, Catlin Gabel 2

      5A is an interesting animal. Crater and Summit are great programs that are doing things the right way. They are at or near the top of the state at any level. In general, 5A is an interesting case study as it does not have the same depth as 6A. Most of the 5A schools were not athletic powers at 6A and as a result of having more bottom feeders, their isn’t the depth of historical program strength at the 5A level.

      To clarify I meant to say they were not athletic powers in the old 4A and as a result a larger % of the schools didn’t have the success breeds success type programs that are sometimes seen at the top programs.
