Bend and Mountain View are clearly two of the best Class 5A football teams in Oregon. The Lava Bears (3-0) moved up to No. 5, while the Courgars (2-1) loss to top ranked Sherwood dropped them to 6th and moved the Bowman up from No. 2. Mark your calendar for Friday, October 2nd, that’s when Bend plays host to Mountain View to end the regular season. While both teams have tough games before then (namely Bend @ Lincoln the week before) the two teams could very possibly come in with a combined 13-1 record (not to look too far ahead). Another big upcoming matchup is No. 1 Sherwood @ No. 4 Wilsonville on Friday, Oct. 7th.
