It’s been a strong start to the prep football season for the three Bend schools, who have a combined 10-2 record. The Lava Bears are one of only three unbeaten teams left in Class 5A, Mountain View’s only loss is to the top-ranked team in the state and Summit has a three-game win streak after snapping a 23-game losing streak.

Should be some fun games when the three teams play each other later this season. The Summit crowd for Friday’s win over The Dalles-Wahtonka was huge, and both Bend and Mountain View always draw great fan support. These matchups should be packed!

The problem with having three of the top teams in the state in one league is that only two of them can qualify for state. That means a deserving team in Bend is going to get left out.
