Kyle Singler
High School – A state title and a second-place finish for South Medford (lost to K-Love’s LO team when they finished second).
College – A National championship in 2010 for Duke.

Terrence Jones
High School – 3 state high school championships @ Jefferson… it doesn’t get much better than that!
College – TJ’s Kentucky Wildcats are in the final 4.
Kevin Love
High School – A state team title and two runner up finishes. (One of those second place finishes was to Kyle Singler’s South Medford team).
College – Final 4 in his only year of college basketball at UCLA.
Pros – OK, so this hasn’t gone so good for K-Love. Granted he is the NBA’s leading rebounder, but his team’s record is not good! But give him a break, they are the Timberwolves. They have gone 56-182 in his time in Minnesota. That could all change when Love becomes a very popular free agent.

The spring prep sports season has just started, but a few teams are already off to great starts. Here are some of the best win streaks to start the season:
Bend baseball (6-0) – The Lava Bears have a 6-game win streak to start the early season.
Redmond baseball (4-2) – The Panthers have a 4-game win streak going. And they’ve outscored their opponents 41-8 in those four games.
Redmond softball (7-1) – The Panthers have won 3-striaght games.
Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge helped beat the San Antonio Spurs with one of his best career performances in the teams’ most recent meeting.
With the Spurs lacking the inside presence of Tim Duncan this time, Aldridge and the Blazers may be due for another productive effort.
Portland looks to keep pace in the Western Conference playoff race Friday night when it shoots for its sixth straight home victory in the series against San Antonio.
Aldridge scored a then-career high 40 points and grabbed 11 rebounds Feb. 1 in a 99-86 win against the Spurs. He hit 16 of 23 shots, and the Blazers (49-33) outscored San Antonio 28-15 in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Aldridge would set a new career high just six days later with 42 points in a win over Chicago, and he’s been putting up solid numbers ever since. He had 22 points before resting the entire fourth quarter Tuesday in a 111-76 rout of Washington, and is averaging career-highs of 22.2 points and 8.7 rebounds this season.
The Blazers have won three of four and are sixth in the West, 1 1/2 games behind fifth-place Denver but only 1 1/2 up on eighth-place Memphis.
Gerald Wallace had his best performance since being traded to Portland from Charlotte at last month’s deadline, scoring 28 points on 10-for-14 shooting. It marked only the second time in 61 games this season Wallace made at least 10 field goals.
“I think I’ve found a comfort zone as far as playing with the guys, getting a feel for what the guys like to do,” Wallace said. “And I think they’re getting comfortable with me out there on the floor.”

Kyle Singler is a stud! I remember watching him play @ Mountain View back when he was at South Medford… he’s still a stud. And he’s a master of floor-born. But if Arizona keeps up the dominating physical play, my bracket is going to be busted. I have Duke winning the whole thing.
OK, it’s official now… my bracket is busted! Derrick Williams is an absolute beast. He’ll be the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft. This was his coming out party!!!
